Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) is one of the most popular and extensively consumed vegetable crops in the world.
The worldwide production of tomato in 2013 was approximately 164 million tons, with a value of $60 billion (FAO, 2013).
China is the leading tomato producing country in the world (FAO, 2013). Viral infection is one of major factors limiting
tomato production. To obtain an overall picture of the diversity, distribution and evolution of tomato viruses in China,
we collected 170 field tomato samples across the country. Viruses in these samples were determined using sRNA sequencing.
Comprehensive analysis of these sRNA data was conducted using VirusDetect pipeline.
